Tom is an accomplished communications and management consultant and practitioner with considerable local and international media and corporate experience. He is currently serving as the managing partner of Blue Crane Global an external relations consulting company and is an Executive Director of content company Okuhle Spielworks. Until December 31st 2018, he served as the Group Editor-in-Chief of the Nation Media Group. He has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Nation Media Group, after being promoted from the role of Managing Director of the Nation Newspapers Division in 2013. He served in Uganda as the Managing Director of the Monitor Publications Limited and was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Standard Media Group in Kenya between 2003 and 2006. He worked for UNICEF in New York and Nigeria as an Editor and Communications Chief between 1999 and 2003.
He has served in several Boards including the Nation Media Group, the University of Nairobi Council, the Kenya Copyright Board and the East African Wildlife Society. He is the chairman of the AAR Insurance Board and has done extensive consultancy work for various international organizations, including UNESCO, World Bank and the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Lydia previously served as the Head of Finance at Custody and Registrars Services Uganda Ltd until 2016, where she gained in-depth experience in share registry operations and stakeholder engagement within Uganda’s capital markets. She subsequently joined PKF Uganda as a Senior Accountant, where she was responsible for leading key finance functions including revenue reconciliation, payroll processing, statutory reporting, and audit coordination.
She currently serves as the Finance and Operations Manager at the Center for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP), where she oversees financial management, operational planning, and compliance in the non-profit sector. Her diverse background across both corporate and development sectors makes her a valuable contributor to C&R’s board in Uganda
