Frederick Murunga
Frederick has varied experience managing cross-discipline business operations, client services and technology across sectors including ICT, manufacturing and international development. His expertise spans corporate leadership, strategy development, operational and corporate risk management.
He has held senior commercial, financial and general management roles at various entities including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Unga Group Ltd, Menanet Communications and Africa Online Ltd. He has also coordinated and supervised private sector development initiatives partnering with development agencies in East, Central and West Africa.
He is Managing Director at Captiva Africa LLC, an advisory firm in international development, serving clients in private, public and social sectors across the continent. He holds an MBA from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi.
His civic leadership has included roles in non-profits including: Chair to the Audit and Risk Committee for the African Academy of Sciences, a multi-donor funded pan African entity that seeks to drive sustainable development through science, technology and innovation, Chair to the Finance and Audit Committee of National Consortium for Health Research, a Private Public Partnership that focuses on building capacity for public health research in Kenya, past-chairman for KCA University Council; and past-director and Honorary Treasurer for Technology Service Providers of Kenya- (TESPOK) a trade association for telecoms, software and hardware developers as well as ICT hubs.

James Kamau
James is a highly regarded Corporate and Projects Lawyer in Kenya with over twenty years’ experience. He is the Managing Partner of Iseme, Kamau & Maema Advocates (IKM), a leading commercial law firm in Kenya. IKM is a member of DLA Piper Africa Group, an alliance of 19 independent legal practices in Africa working with DLA Piper global law firm across Africa and globally.
James is the trusted adviser of leading local and multinational corporations and in this capacity has handled numerous high value complex local and cross-border transactions.

Tom Mshindi
Tom is an accomplished communications and management consultant and practitioner with considerable local and international media and corporate experience. He is currently serving as the managing partner of Blue Crane Global external relations consulting company and is an executive director of content company Okuhle Spielworks. Until December 31st 2018, he served as the Group Editor-in-Chief of the Nation Media Group. He has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Nation Media Group, after being promoted from the role of Managing Director of the Nation Newspapers Division in 2013. He served in Uganda as the Managing Director of the Monitor Publications Limited and was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Standard Media Group in Kenya between 2003 and 2006. He worked for UNICEF in New York and Nigeria as an Editor and Communications Chief between 1999 and 2003.
He has served in several Boards including the Nation Media Group, the University of Nairobi Council, the Kenya Copyright Board and the East African Wildlife Society. He is the chairman of the AAR Insurance Board and has done extensive consultancy work for various international organizations, including UNESCO, the World Bank and the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
Mr. Mshindi graduate of the University of Nairobi and holds an Advanced Management Programme certificate from Strathmore University and the Barcelona-based IESE University, and an AMP Certificate in Media and Entertainment from IESE (New York); and a post-graduate degree in mass communication/journalism.
CEO
Kerry-Ann Makatiani
Kerry-Ann is CEO at C&R Group, in-charge of ensuring strong relations with clients and industry stakeholders, overseeing the performance of C&R’s operations and risk profile, and guiding and implementing the strategic direction of the Company. She joined C&R in January 2010.
Prior to joining C&R she had over 15 years’ work experience gained in Jamaica, USA, South Africa and Kenya, with strong experience in strategy, project and operational management. She worked in management consulting, spanning operational management, business and strategic planning as well as project management and implementation, for over five years with PwC Consulting in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as Anderson Consulting in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Prior to that, she worked in product marketing and engineering for a telecommunication company for over seven years. Her Industry experience also includes financial services in the area of business, strategic and competitive analysis gained at Citibank N.A., New York, during her graduate studies.
Kerry-Ann holds an MBA in Finance & Management from Stern School of Business NY, USA; a post-graduate diploma in Marketing from Jamaica Institute of Management; and a BSc.in Engineering from Swarthmore College, PA, USA.
